Update to the Latest Software Version

Your Net-Top-Box can update itself automatically but this feature is turned off by default. Follow the instructions below depending on whether you want to update automatically or manually.

You will need the user name and password that we e-mailed to you.
Click here if you have not registered your e-mail address or if you have forgotten the password.

Read the V7 Release Notes. V6 release notes are here.

If your NTB already has the latest software then check for a Hotfix below, otherwise update to the latest version and then check for a Hotfix.

(Ask your network Administrator for advice)

If the above procedure has already been done then your Net-Top-Box should have downloaded and installed the latest available software.

The following procedure needs to be done every time new software is released and on every Net-Top-Box in your network:

If your current Software Version is: Download File:

  3. Try the download again and if you are asked to overwrite the file but the size and date is identical then click "Cancel" because the file is fully downloaded.
  4. If using Internet Explorer then check that it did not rename the file, if it ends in ".tar" then change it to ".opf".
  5. Browse to the "Setup | Software Update | Manual Update" page / tab on the Net-Top-Box.
  6. Click the "Browse..." button and locate the OPF file that you have just downloaded.
  7. Click the "Upload" button and wait for the file to upload to the Net-Top-Box.
  8. Do not browse away from the page during the upload. Be patient if the browser appears to freeze at the end of the upload.
  9. When the upload is complete, do NOT pull the power cable out or turn off the electricity until the update process is complete.
  10. Click the "Reboot" link to restart the Net-Top-Box, this may take up to 20 minutes.
  11. After the Net-Top-Box has rebooted it will be running the new software.
  12. Repeat all the steps above until the Net-Top-Box is running the latest software.
