Troubleshooter



Warning I have not read the User Guide yet.

Instructions

  1. Plug the cable from the TV antenna into a digital TV decoder and plug the decoder into a TV.
  2. Confirm that you have a digital signal by checking that the decoder can show digital TV stations ont he TV.
  3. Plug the cable from the TV antenna into the "DTV" socket on the NTB.
  4. If the NTB does not have such a socket then it does not have a TV tuner.Contact your dealer if you need one retro-fitted.
  5. Browse to the Home page on the NTB.
  6. Check the NTB model in the top right-hand corner. It is the digits immediately after the letters "NTB".If the number ends in a zero then there is no TV tuner card in the NTB or it has come loose.
  7. If the tuner card has come loose then have someone with reasonable technical skill open the NTB and re-seat the tuner card and its riser card..
  8. Browse to the "Settings | TV Tuner" page on the NTB.
  9. Read the Help and then click the button to tune the TV tuner card.
  10. The Display Device will go blue with scrolling white text.It may take several minutes for the process to complete.You can monitor it on the TV Tuner page.
  11. The tuner should find some TV stations.If no stations were found then a good quality digital TV signal may not be available.The antenna may need upgrading or the signal in your area is poor.If some stations are missing it may be that the station is currently off-line - try again later.
  12. If you have more than one NTB then swap the NTB with one that was able to find the digital TV stations and re-tune the TV card.If the second NTB suffers from the same problem as the original NTB then the fault lies with the cabling,otherwise it lies with the original NTB.
  13. Click the "Use new channels" button.
  14. Click a test button alongside one of the Stations.
  15. The station should appear on the Display Device.
  16. A broken, jerky, blocky or frozen TV image means that the signal is poor.
  17. Return to your playlist and confirm that the TV station has been added to it.
  18. Confirm that the playlist is in the layout that will be shown on the Display Device at this point in time.
  19. Click the "Activate" button to make the layout appear on the Display Device.
  20. The Digital TV should appear.

Send a Support Snapshot

  1. Optional: Preview an Image on the screen to reduce the load on the processor.
  2. Browse to the "Settings | Support" page on the NTB and click "Run" for "Create Support Snapshot".
  3. The NTB will create a file and prompt you to download it.("Server Error" message? Try again, don't leave out step 1.)
  4. Click the link below to start a new e-mail message.
  5. Attatch the downloaded file to the e-mail.
  6. Give a description of the problem and send the e-mail.
  7. Technical Support will reply with further instructions.
