EXTERNAL POWER TRANSFORMER?
Ensure that the 12V DC power transformer connects the NTB to mains electricity and that the mains are on.
Power transformers are easily confused with laptop PSU's but they are not the same, it must say "OUTPUT: 12V".
No need to switch the NTB on, it should just power up. If not, try pressing the power switch.

Is the green light on transformer on and can you hear mechanical noises from the NTB?

Make sure that the NTB is connected via a VGA cable to a display device otherwise it will not boot up.
No need to switch the NTB on, it should just power up. If not, try pressing the power switch.

The NTB started booting up and something happened on the Display Device which is no longer completely black.
If words like "No Signal" or "Unsuported Mode" appeared on the Display Device then they went away a little later.

The NTB booted up and I saw lots of green "OK"s and the IP address (or "no Cable?") in big green numbers on the Display Device. I am not being asked to enter a password.
