| This guide explains how to install a ONELAN Net-Top-Box (NTB) in a Digital Signage network and how to connect to the NTB from a computer on the same network. Once you have connected to the NTB, you will be able to read its web pages to learn how to control it as a digital signage player. A Quick User Guide is also provided in booklet form with the NTB. | |

| Match the NTB Resolution to the Display Device | |

The NTB ships with an output resolution of 1360x768. Shown display wit a different resolution, however, the image will appear to be stretched or cropped. To get the best out of the NTB you should match its output resolution to that of the Display Device.

| Set the Display to Turn Off Overnight (if desired) | |
The NTB can be configured to switch off its VGA output at any time of day. The Display Device should then go into a power save mode and shut most of its functions down.

| Tune the Digital TV Card (if fitted) | |
NTB model numbers ending in "5" (e.g. NTB605) have a built-in TV tuner that can show either digital (Freeview) or analogue TV on the display device. There is no need to connect a Digibox to the NTB. The installation procedure is as follows:

| Configure the NTB for the Proxy Server (if applicable) | |
|
A proxy is a server that all computers in most larger Organisations go through to get web-pages from the Internet. The Proxy server stores a copy of each page so that the next person wanting the same page gets the copy, reducing the Internet bandwidth. It also gives the Organisation the opportunity to control inappropriate Internet use. Since the Internet traffic to an NTB is usually very light (usually just text files from RSS feeds) and since the NTB can't make inappropriate use of the Internet, it should not need to go through the Proxy. Some Organisations, however, will insist that it does. If so then proceed as follows:

These licenses oblige ONELAN to provide the source code of the open source code we have used and/or modified, for an administration fee. ONELAN is happy to provide such source code for a fee of £100 on a DVD. Anyone wanting such source code may apply in writing to ONELAN's registered head office for such a DVD, enclosing a copy of this notice. We point out that this source code is only a part of the overall code running in the NTB appliance. Anyone obtaining the open source code from us will not be able to use this code to replicate a complete software build of an NTB. |
